Pinelands, farms & open space
About 90% of Buena Vista Township lies within a Pinelands management area. The township also contains wetlands, woodlands, headwaters and portions of the Great Egg Harbor National Wild & Scenic River area. Richland, East Vineland and Milmay remain closely associated with farming and greenhouse agriculture.
Produce farms, nurseries and farm markets remain visible parts of everyday life, especially in the township's southern and western sections.
Pinelands rules, wetlands and environmentally sensitive areas help shape where and how development can occur.
Township parks, wooded roads, lakes and river headwaters give Buena Vista a distinctly low-density South Jersey setting.
